Fragrances: My Top Perfumes for Winter Months

Hello lovelies! I hope you all liked my previous post( link provided) regarding the benefits of apple cider vinegar. Winter has just arrived, and that AVC bottle is bound to get handy in the next coming months. Today I thought I would talk about some of my favourite winter perfumes. From left to right I have ‘Hypnose Lancome’ ‘Daisy Dream Marc Jacob’ ‘Chanel Coco Noir ‘  and ‘Ma Vie Pour Femme Hugo Boss’

Chanel Coco Noir

This perfume adds seduction and depth to Chanel’s timeless Coco fragrance. The deeply rich and provocative aroma of Coco Noir has a woody, floral scent with accents of spice and sensual musk that delicately lingers on the skin. This chic perfume is perfect for those long winter nights. Coco Noir has notes of grapefruit, bergamot, orange, rose, jasmine, geranium, patchouli, tonka bean, vanilla, sandalwood, and white musk. If you want to feel pretty, romantic and cozy, give it a try. It’s got a truly narcotic effect. This fragrance wears noticeably on my skin for around six hours and is mostly gone by eight hours. On the whole, this perfume is a wearable, easygoing fragrance that many will love.It can be worn both day  and night, however I find is more suited for night time as it does have that heavier smell.

Ma Vie Pour Femme Hugo Boss

The inspiration of this perfume draws from the independent spirit of a woman. Ma Vie is described as “strong, feminine and independent”. The fragrance is fresh and unique. The blooming bouquet of pink freesia, jasmine petals and rose buds is at the heart of this perfume, while the intense warmth of cedarwood forms the base. I personally adore this fragrance-  it is slightly on the sweet side, but still fresh and playful. The scent lingers on my skin about 4-5 hours (not as long as Chanel Coco Noir ). The pink bottle is also very cute, giving it a girly and sweet look.

Hypnose Lancome

This woodsy and oriental fragrance features passion flower which creates both gentle and passionate feminine aura; a magical product of orchid and vanilla, which smells warm and creamy on skin; and white flowers and jasmine giving a  sensual and deep sensation. The beautiful bottle is designed in a form of  a woman’s silhouette, and the colour of the perfume hypnotizes just like tender blue woman’s eyes. The passion flower and vanilla scent lasts all day. I have been using this perfume for the last 5 years and is truly remained one of the most unforgettable fragrances with the heady note of vanilla that lingers for hours! I feel very feminine and relaxed when I wear this beautiful perfume, it also attracts a lot of attention from the opposite sex! SO LADIES A MUST HAVE in your fragrance collection.

Daisy Dream Marc Jacobs for women

I adore all Marc Jacobs Daisy perfumes. They smell gorgeous and the packaging is to die for! Daisy Dream is the newest addition to my perfume collection and it is probably the pretties bottle so far. The scent is a fruity floral fragrance inspired by daises and blue skies. The fruity-floral fragrance is bursting with top notes of blackberry, grapefruit, and pear. The heart notes are introduced with a bouquet of jasmine, lychee, and blue wisteria, and a medley of white woods, musks, and coconut water reveal the base notes. It is exactly what I expected – feminine, airy, light and perfect for daytime. The fragrance bottle is also very cute, enveloped in a shawl of laced daisies, topped with a silver cap, and adorned with gold hues and daisy accents.

So there you have it ladies! My top 4 fragrance for this winter.

I would love to hear your favourite fragrances for this winter.

Grocery Store Beauty Secret: Apple Cider Vinegar

IMG_0004Hello Lovelies, today’s blog is about how I use Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). Now this staple ingredient has more uses than dressing salads or making pickles! In fact is a all-in-one beauty product for all of your natural beauties on a budget. ACV can be purchased from any grocery store. I buy mine from Woolworths for $6.29. It does not really matter where you get it from as long is the good stuff. Make sure you use raw, all-natural apple cider vinegar for maximum benefits!

Here are 4 ways of how I use apple cider vinegar!

Constant use of harsh soaps and shampoos can dry out hair. However, the acidity of AVC counteracts that process and actually balances the hair’s natural pH levels, by removing clumpy residue and gunk in hair from product buildup. It also works as a natural detangler. When used regularly in your natural hair care routine, apple cider vinegar can revitalise your hair, leaving it soft and smooth. The vinegar also works by closing the cuticle of the hair, which makes light reflect off it making your hair super shiny! Simply Combine 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar with 1/4 of distilled water in a container and mix well. Follow your normal routine of shampooing your hair like you would normally do and rinse well. Apply the mixture (a spray bottle works great), leave it on for just a few seconds, and rinse with cold water to lock in the shine. No need for conditioning hair afterwards. Do this about 1-3 times a week depending on your hair condition. I usually do it 2 times a week.

2. Skin

Our skin is naturally acidic, apple cider vinegar can help restore your skin’s natural pH balance. When your pH levels are in balance your skin sits at that optimum level between oily and dry, improving your overall complexion. Apple cider vinegar helps to reduce red marks and blemishes, and soften skin. So try it out for yourself by adding a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to your next bath! I guarantee you you will see the difference. LADIES put that bottle of apple cider vinegar to work. IMG_0020 3. Facial Toner

Personally I am not a huge fan of toners as I hardly notice a difference on my face if I use it. I never really appreciated toner for some reason. I thought it was something companies made to get us to buy more but wasn’t really necessary. However this natural way is recommendable. Simply make a toner by mixing four parts water to one part apple cider vinegar and applying it with a cotton ball after cleansing. Allow it to dry and then use your regular moisturiser—you’ll find that your face cream sinks in better. Please be notable ladies that if you have a sunburn or very sensitive skin, try it on a small area first to see if your skin gets irritated, because HOLY MOTHER IT WILL BURN if applied on sensitive areas. Just dab some apple cider vinegar straight onto blemishes before going to bed. It will dry them out while working to fade age spots or acne scars. Trust me it has worked for me! One part apple cider vinegar mixed with two parts water creates a refreshing toner that leaves skin glowing. When lightly sprayed or dabbed on the face, the acidity of the vinegar will create a light layer on the skin, locking in moisture. For you ladies worried about the vinegar smell don’t worry the smell will dissipate after a few minutes. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to dilute the solution further.  I can definitely say that AVC  tightens pores, helps clear up acne and fights future breakouts. It’s anti-bacterial and an antiseptic and helps to re-balance your skin’s pH level after it’s been disrupted from washing it. Not bad for a bottle from a grocery store aisle AYE?

4. Deodorant

Now this may seem odd but AVC can actually be used as an underarm deodorant! All you have to do is apply some to your underarms with a cotton ball. It will have a strong scent at first, but that will soon neutralise and you will be left feeling as fresh as ever. Now those who are wondering how it works… well to put it in chemical terms most commercial deodorants are antiperspirants, which block your ability to sweat. Since sweat is one of your body’s natural means of detoxification, blocking your ability to sweat can block your ability to detoxify. Plus, most drugstore deodorants and antiperspirants contain aluminium and a host of unpronounceable chemicals and synthetic fragrances, so you want to avoid them anyway. Apple cider vinegar absorbs and neutralises stinky scents. Simply rub a bit of ACV in your underarms and it will absorb and minimise body odors. The vinegary smell dissipates once it dries. IMG_0023

So there you have it ladies!! in a nutshell of how I use apple cider vinegar!

Hello Lovelies! Just a quick post to share to you all my secret to beautiful skin! It’s Invite E vitamin E cream and oil!!! I use both the cream and oil at night and day! I seriously can’t live without them, especially around IMG_0077colder seasons where my skin seems to need as much moisture as it can get. I purchased the Vitamin E Cream Tub (250 g) for $18.49 and the pure oil 15ml for $11.49 from Priceline. You’ll notice that at first when you put the cream on it doesn’t feel overly moisturising as it sinks into the skin very quickly but stick with it, the results are AMAZING! My skin feels lovely and soft when I wake up next day. While the cream is easy to apply, unfortunately the same can’t be said for the oil. The pure Invite E Vitamin E Oil is very difficult to get out of the container as it is very viscous. It’s hard to spread it on a big area because of it’s consistency. It is also impossible to tell if the opaque container is finished. However it works wonderful on small spots such as around the eyes or lips, while for rest of the body, is best to stick with the cream. For the price,IMG_0073 I think both of these products are great and worth a go if you are looking tIMG_0080o try out some new skincare. Overall is a wonderful moisturiser for dry skin. It also proclaims to be good for scaly skin, wrinkles and helps in improving skin elasticity. Tip: When applying the cream all over the body, take extra time applying on rough areas of the body such as knees, elbows and feet as it can help soften these areas. The cream is thick and lightly fragranced. Both moisturises well and is great for Winter.  These product are a MUST to keep your skin well hydrated and soft. Continue reading
