Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Pack- Goes out to all oily and acne prone beauties

Hello lovelies,

First of all I want to apologise for being on hiatus since my last post.

Today’s post is a quick one! It goes out to all oily and acne prone beauties.

The magic word is NEEM! For those who are not sure what this is, Neem is a well known plant famous for its antibacterial properties, which helps in controlling acne and pimples, and their recurrence.

Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Pack
The mask has a dark green color (similar to henna) that turns light green after drying. It has a perfect consistency which is neither too thick nor too runny and spreads easily onto skin. It has a grainy texture which is a mixture of fuller’s earth and dry Neem leaves. It has a mild Neem fragrance that goes off after some time.
Neem & Fuller’s earth are its key ingredients which are highly effective for any oily acne prone skin.

How to apply:
Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck, avoiding the area around the eyes. Allow the mask to dry for 10-15 minutes. Remove  the mask either using a wet towel or wet cotton ball, and wash the skin with warm water. I recommend using it once or twice a week. Beware that it may cause some tingling sensation due to herbal active ingredients, which is absolutely NORMAL!
I would recommend using rose water or aloe vera gel after rinsing off the mask( available at any indian grocery stores)

Packaging : It come in a white squeeze tube with green flip open cap.

It is an ideal face mask for oily to combination skin, even dry skin beauties can use this mask. It has reduced my breakouts to certain extent. It is affordable and its travel friendly packaging makes this mask a must have product in skin care.

I strongly recommend this mask to calm down problematic skin and to welcome the summer season. I will definitely buy this mask again!

What I’m loving about Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Pack
It controls break outs to a large extent. I’ve been using it for a few months now and it has definitely reduced my breakouts.
Inexpensive – the price is quite affordable (can buy it from any indian grocery store).

What others might not like about Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Pack
It gives a tingling sensation when you use it. It’s very mild and nothing  too serious.
The face pack separates sometimes and gives out only greenish liquid( shake before applying).

Beauty tip: You can leave the mask on pimples to dry it out.
Just leave it on the spot overnight and you'll notice
the difference next day!

Grocery Store Beauty Secret: Apple Cider Vinegar

IMG_0004Hello Lovelies, today’s blog is about how I use Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). Now this staple ingredient has more uses than dressing salads or making pickles! In fact is a all-in-one beauty product for all of your natural beauties on a budget. ACV can be purchased from any grocery store. I buy mine from Woolworths for $6.29. It does not really matter where you get it from as long is the good stuff. Make sure you use raw, all-natural apple cider vinegar for maximum benefits!

Here are 4 ways of how I use apple cider vinegar!

Constant use of harsh soaps and shampoos can dry out hair. However, the acidity of AVC counteracts that process and actually balances the hair’s natural pH levels, by removing clumpy residue and gunk in hair from product buildup. It also works as a natural detangler. When used regularly in your natural hair care routine, apple cider vinegar can revitalise your hair, leaving it soft and smooth. The vinegar also works by closing the cuticle of the hair, which makes light reflect off it making your hair super shiny! Simply Combine 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar with 1/4 of distilled water in a container and mix well. Follow your normal routine of shampooing your hair like you would normally do and rinse well. Apply the mixture (a spray bottle works great), leave it on for just a few seconds, and rinse with cold water to lock in the shine. No need for conditioning hair afterwards. Do this about 1-3 times a week depending on your hair condition. I usually do it 2 times a week.

2. Skin

Our skin is naturally acidic, apple cider vinegar can help restore your skin’s natural pH balance. When your pH levels are in balance your skin sits at that optimum level between oily and dry, improving your overall complexion. Apple cider vinegar helps to reduce red marks and blemishes, and soften skin. So try it out for yourself by adding a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to your next bath! I guarantee you you will see the difference. LADIES put that bottle of apple cider vinegar to work. IMG_0020 3. Facial Toner

Personally I am not a huge fan of toners as I hardly notice a difference on my face if I use it. I never really appreciated toner for some reason. I thought it was something companies made to get us to buy more but wasn’t really necessary. However this natural way is recommendable. Simply make a toner by mixing four parts water to one part apple cider vinegar and applying it with a cotton ball after cleansing. Allow it to dry and then use your regular moisturiser—you’ll find that your face cream sinks in better. Please be notable ladies that if you have a sunburn or very sensitive skin, try it on a small area first to see if your skin gets irritated, because HOLY MOTHER IT WILL BURN if applied on sensitive areas. Just dab some apple cider vinegar straight onto blemishes before going to bed. It will dry them out while working to fade age spots or acne scars. Trust me it has worked for me! One part apple cider vinegar mixed with two parts water creates a refreshing toner that leaves skin glowing. When lightly sprayed or dabbed on the face, the acidity of the vinegar will create a light layer on the skin, locking in moisture. For you ladies worried about the vinegar smell don’t worry the smell will dissipate after a few minutes. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to dilute the solution further.  I can definitely say that AVC  tightens pores, helps clear up acne and fights future breakouts. It’s anti-bacterial and an antiseptic and helps to re-balance your skin’s pH level after it’s been disrupted from washing it. Not bad for a bottle from a grocery store aisle AYE?

4. Deodorant

Now this may seem odd but AVC can actually be used as an underarm deodorant! All you have to do is apply some to your underarms with a cotton ball. It will have a strong scent at first, but that will soon neutralise and you will be left feeling as fresh as ever. Now those who are wondering how it works… well to put it in chemical terms most commercial deodorants are antiperspirants, which block your ability to sweat. Since sweat is one of your body’s natural means of detoxification, blocking your ability to sweat can block your ability to detoxify. Plus, most drugstore deodorants and antiperspirants contain aluminium and a host of unpronounceable chemicals and synthetic fragrances, so you want to avoid them anyway. Apple cider vinegar absorbs and neutralises stinky scents. Simply rub a bit of ACV in your underarms and it will absorb and minimise body odors. The vinegary smell dissipates once it dries. IMG_0023
